WESTCO RECEIVES GRANT
FROM HSBC BANK USA (from the Westchester County Business Journal)
(August 8, 2005 - White
Plains, NY) -- Westco Productions, White Plains, a performing arts organization,
received a $5,000 donation from HSBC Bank USA in support of Westco's "Tickets For
Tots" program, which enables children from low-income households in Westchester
to attend a series of musical theater productions at no charge.
(ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Presentation of the gift was made by HSBC Bank USA officials during a
breakfast the bank hosted. The event took place at 800 Westchester Avenue on
July 26th, and was attended by members of Westco’s Board of Directors and
representatives of Family Services of Westchester, one of the agencies
participating in Westco’s “Tickets For Tots” program.
Westco established its “Tickets For Tots” program in 2000. The program targets
children enrolled in Head Start programs at more than a dozen child care
agencies in Westchester. Children of various ethnicities participate in the
literature-based arts program. Since its inception, the program has continued to
grow, and now serves more than 2,500 children each year.
Westco Productions is Westchester’s resident professional performing arts
organization for young and family audiences. Now in its 26th season, Westco has
entertained a cumulative audience of more than 537,000. This season an
estimated 30,000 to 40,000 audience members will be attending its productions at
the Rochambeau Theater in White Plains, the Irvington Town Hall Theatre in
Irvington, the Westchester Broadway Theatre in Elmsford, and the Antrim
Playhouse in Suffern.)
